Nicollet Public School Band and Choir: Trip Update

We are by Wisconsin Dells and anticipate being back by 1:00 PM.

Trip Itinerary

Saturday March 23….9:15 am = load busses and leave Nicollet

Will eat lunch and dinner en-route at fast food restaurants

Sunday, March 24

7:30 …..breakfast at fast food restaurant

9:00 – 10:00 …tour Flight 93 crash sight
Eat lunch at fast food restaurant en-route to DC .
1:00….arrive DC
2:30 – 4:00….Arlington Cemetery…..changing of the guard, Kennedy gravesites
4:15 – 4:45 ….Iwo Jima memorial
5:30 – 6:30…Arrive at hotel. Holiday Inn Washington Dulles (703-471-7411)
6:30 – 7:30…Pizza party at hotel
7:30 – 10:00….free time for kids to relax and swim

Monday, March 25
7:00 - 8:00 ……Breakfast at hotel
9:30 – 11:00…..band and choir perform at the Lincoln Memorial
11:30 – 3:30…..Smithsonian Museums
3:45 – 5:30….National Archives…view Declaration of Independence, the United
States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
5:30 – 6:30….Buca di Beppo….Dinner served family style at an Italian restaurant.
7:00 – 9:30 …..Illuminated Tour of the Monuments

Tuesday, March 26
7:45 - 8:45 ……Breakfast at hotel
10:15 – 12:00…..Ford Theater/Peterson House…We will see a play at the Ford
Theater about the assassination of President Lincoln.

12:10 – 1:30…..US Capital Tour
2:00 – 3:00 …Late lunch at the Ronald Regan Building
3:45 – 4:15…..Ruth Klossner will take a photo of our group standing in front of the
US Capital
4:15 – 4:45….stop at the White House for photo opportunity
5:00 – 7:30…..shop till you drop at the Old Post Office. This is the actual former
post office building turned into a mall. Students can shop for souvenirs…climb the
tower and take photos and/or eat.
8:30 – 10:00….back at hotel, relax and swim

Wednesday, March 27
7:00 - 8:00 ……Breakfast at hotel
9:00 – 12:45…..Mount Vernon…..we will take a tour of the mansion and then
students may explore the grounds. We will eat at the food court.
1:45 – 5:00……..Holocaust Museum
5:30 – 6:30….dinner at fast food restaurant.
7:00 – 9:00…Walking Ghost Tour…..will take a guided tour of Washington DC and
learn about the ghosts still residing in the old buildings.

Thursday, March 28
7:00 - 8:00 ……Breakfast at hotel
11:30 - 12:30…lunch at General Pickets Buffet in Gettysburg
1:00 – 5:00…. Begin our visit with a film and cyclorama, then tour the
battlegrounds of Gettysburg, finish with a trip to the museum and visitors center.
6:30….dinner at fast food restaurant.

Friday, March 29
Breakfast and lunch at fast food restaurants
3:30 pm…approximate arrival back home!
